Memorial Update: The City of Orlando Centers Its Own Politicians Before PULSE Survivors

The City of Orlando has put the names of City Council members on display at its "memorial" construction site before demolition — but not the names of PULSE survivors.
Let that sink in.
They have space to honor politicians. They have space to center themselves. But somehow, they cannot find space to name the people who were shot, who survived, who lost loved ones, who live with this every single day.
That is not an oversight. That is a choice.
It is horrendous. It is unacceptable. And it tells you exactly who this City believes matters in this story.
They silence our voices in public meetings. They rewrite history. They look us in the eye and tell us this is about “healing” while erasing the very people who were harmed.
And after all of that, they handed the Pomas $2 million in taxpayer funds — money from the public — to help fund their legal defense against us.
Against survivors.
Against victims.
The City is protecting power, not people. It is protecting itself, not the PULSE-affected community. And it is doing so while pretending to lead a memorial process rooted in truth and respect. This is the City’s newest lie.
You cannot claim to honor victims while erasing them.
You cannot claim transparency while lying to our faces.
You cannot claim unity while funding legal battles against survivors and fighting in court to prevent public records about the failed police response from becoming public.
We see what you are doing. And we will not be silent.
